When you’re looking to start your business, or relaunch a phase of significant growth, it’s essential to start with what your ultimate goals are for your vision, and the business. This is why we are starting the SBA Accelerate Pro program with going back to the basics of what you are wanting the business, and indeed your life, to look like in 3 / 5 / 10 years’ time.

In this first session, we’ll be digging deep to analyse exactly the direction that you want your business to go in, and how we’re going to get there. We’ll break down the Ultimate Vision into bite-sized goals and you will leave the session with a clear one-page growth plan.

At some point in your business, you may wish to submit a tender, proposal, or grant application. Tenders and proposals lead to contracts which add value to your business, and you may even be able to borrow against. Grants will help you improve your business and even when there are no large grants available, there are still some out there that offer assistance that you may find useful.

In this session we will first learn how to access opportunities, where to look and how to find key information that can help you decide whether to proceed or not. In the second half of the session, we will discuss how to go about responding, what good looks like, and what depth you need to go to in your applications. You will leave the session with a checklist and action plan to take your growth to the next step.

This module guides business owners to set business measures confidently and competently, enabling them to make effective decisions and take proactive actions to grow their businesses.

People are your most valuable resource and having motivated, skilled and an engaged team, is vital to every business. Having the right number of people in the right roles is also critical to the success of any organisation. Therefore, in this session we are going to look at the true value of your key resource (people), how we attract, engage, manage, and retain them. We will follow the employment lifecycle throughout the program from beginning (hiring) to end (exit). By the end of the day, you will have a tool kit of essential knowledge and core HR skills you need to support employees, peers, managers, and the organisation throughout the employment lifecycle.

To achieve substantial growth in your business, Marketing is going to be one of the most important factors to maximise your ROI and make those goals a reality. Taking the goals and KPIs that we have now determined through earlier sessions, in this session we will analyse the best marketing channels and strategy to achieve this growth. We’ll take time to make a clear list of what each of us need to do to improve our marketing, whether that’s improving our digital assets (such as social media presence, website, or branding), deciding what your key messages will be or taking on an additional member of staff / sub-contractor. Using the template provided, by the end of this session you will have a 1-2 page action plan and reference document.

Each business is unique, but they all have several factors in common. And cash is the lifeblood of a Business; the session is designed to understand the fundamentals of what a profitable, cash flow positive business is and how we will explore the relationships between profitability and cashflow.

We will cover the cash cycle of a business, its relationship with billings, inventory, and receivables and what that means to working capital, business profitability and the liquidity of business operations.

Your elevator pitch is your verbal business card. It’s your opportunity to tell people in less than one minute who you are, what you do, and why they should care. An impactful, memorable elevator pitch allows you to grow your business at every opportunity. Whether it’s literally talking to someone in an elevator or introducing yourself at a networking event, your pitch can make or break your ability to build your business.
